Privacy Policy

Newport Beach Firefighters Association, keepingnewportsafe.com

This page explains what we collect when you submit a comment on this site, what we do with it, and how to reach us to change or remove it.

What we collect

When you submit the comment form we collect your first name, last name, street address, email address, your comments, and, if you choose to provide it, your cell phone number. Street address is collected so the City Council can identify comments from Newport Beach residents.

How we use it

We do not sell, rent, or trade the information you submit through the form, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and advertising

This site does not need cookies to work, and none are set for browsing, reading the analysis, using the map, or submitting a comment.

We do use one optional third-party advertising tag, the StackAdapt Universal Pixel, to measure how people find this site and to reach Newport Beach residents with it. It records information such as your IP address, the pages you view, and your browser and device, and StackAdapt may use that information to show you advertising about this issue on other websites. Under California law this kind of cross-context behavioral advertising is treated as "sharing" personal information.

It is off until you turn it on. The tag loads only after you choose Accept in the banner shown on your first visit. If you choose Decline, nothing is loaded. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline and do not prompt you.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Your choice is stored in your own browser and is not sent to us.

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and map tiles from OpenStreetMap, and the comment form is handled by Netlify. These providers receive your IP address as a normal part of serving those resources, and they are not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Comments submitted to the City Council

Comments forwarded to the City Council may become part of the public record under the California Public Records Act and the Ralph M. Brown Act, and may be published in council agenda materials. Please do not include information in your comment that you would not want to appear publicly.

Text messages

Text messages are sent only to people who provided a cell phone number and affirmatively checked the consent box. Consent is not a condition of submitting a comment or of any service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Storage

Form submissions are stored in the form service used by this website and are accessible only to authorized representatives of the Newport Beach Firefighters Association. We retain submissions for as long as the Fire Station 3 matter remains before the City, and then delete them.

Your choices

You may opt out of advertising cookies with the Cookie settings link in the footer. You may ask us to correct or delete your information at any time by emailing info@keepingnewportsafe.com. You may unsubscribe from email using the link in any message, and from text messages by replying STOP.
